Farewell Pastor Dave
As you know, June 3rd will be Pastor Dave’s last Sunday to Pastor our church. His moving day is later that week, on June 7th, and his birthday, falls on June 9th, but he will not be here for it. On Sunday, May 20th, we will have a potluck luncheon after the Sanctuary Service, to honor Pastor Dave and his beloved family. As they are leaving, we will want to thank them, and reminisce about all the tings our church family has experienced since their arrival here, five years ago. General Conference Link
Hi, Everyone! Pastor Dave is at General Conference right now, held in Florida this year. If you would like to watch the Opening worship service of the conference, here is the link to the live streaming of it. You can also find a link to the schedule of other events that will be streamed to your PC, should you want to see what they are like. As many of you know by now Pastor Dave will be moving to Davis, Oklahoma in June. We will have more details as they become available.
Living Room Service Sunday School
If you attend the Living Room Service, there is a Sunday School class to benefit you, too. It starts at 10:20, led by Cindy Jenkins, and they are discussing Beth Moore’s “Why Godly People Do Ungodly Things”. No book is necessary.
Positive Thinking
If you don’t belong to a Sunday School class already, the Covenant Sunday School Class invites you to join them. Shirley Wofford guides the class in the Family Life Center, classroom #5, at 9:00 a.m., and they are currently studying Norman Vincent Peale’s “The Power of Positive Thinking”.
Church Chairs!
Church Chairs will deliver our new chairs to the church parking lot on this Friday (Good Friday) at 3 p.m. We need your help! Please come to the church if you can, to celebrate the arrival of our long-awaited chairs, and to help move them into the building. Even if you can’t help move them, please come to celebrate and cheer us on.
Church Rummage Sale & Bake Sale
It's that time of year again, the Church will be having it's annual Bake sale and Rummage this year on May 4th and 5th from 8am to 4pm.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Community-wide Easter Egg Hunt will take place at the city park (like last year’s) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 7th. Our church will be participating by helping in several areas. If you can help, be at the park at Noon on the 7th, and wear your 1st United Methodist Church T-shirt so that we can be represented properly. It is a privilege to serve and connect with the community this way, and such a joy to watch those children having fun!

Local Church Leader Workshop
It’s time to sign up for the Local Church Leader Workshop in Stillwater. This year it will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 26, starting at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Stillwater. We need each attendant’s name, and the classes they’d like to attend for each of the two sessions, plus whether or not they need childcare. Please see the brochure and sign-up form in the foyer of the Sanctuary or close to the front doors of the Family Life Center.
